Is It Safe To Use Brameston To Stop Breast Feeding?
Hi doc. am a breast feeding mum and my baby is six months old and i want to stop him from breastfeeding, i went to the pharmacy to get a pill that would dry out my breast milk and i was given brameston 2.5. so i was wondering if it really works for that and how long those it takes
Brameston ( Bromocryptine) 2.5 will suppress the hormone prolactin which promotes milk production after delivery. The milk secretion will decrease with the reduction of Prolactin. Its use is controversial as it has been associated with high blood pressure, heart attack and stroke, especially for women who developed high blood pressure during pregnancy. If breast-feeding isn't possible, it's safest way is to let milk production diminish naturally. In the meantime, don't stimulate your breasts or express milk. Take Care Dr. Noble Zachariah
