Is It Safe To Travel Up A Mountain With A Ruptured Ear Drum?

Hi. I struggle from time to time with otitis media. Recently, I had a cold that went straight to my ear in a day or two, and my eardrum ruptured. I took erythromycin for 7 days, and am now on a 6 day course of Prednisone and serraflazyme to help drain my ears. Nothing seems to be working. Anyway, a few years ago, I traveled to Colorado Springs, and my ears completely drained once I got into a higher altitude. Why is this, as everything I ve read seems to say that the high elevation should make the fluid worse? Also, is it safe for me to try traveling up a mountain this time since my eardrum is ruptured? The rupture happened about 12 days ago.

You can fly but avoid mountaineering. Before flying take antibiotic and antihistaminic. Do ear surgery as early as possible (if you have ear drum perforation as u said).Hope this information is helpful to you)
