Is It Safe To Travel By Air While Suffering From Mycoplasma Pneumonia?

I have been treated for walking pneumonia two weeks ago with the antibiotic azythromyzin. It was not successful, instead the symptoms worsened (squeaking and cackling sounds from my right lung, feeling like a part of my right lung starts to stick together after lying down for a while). So after another xray and also CatScan I was diagnosed with severe walking pneumonia and put on Levofloxacin (750mg for ten days). I ve just started taking it today. Now my question: In 2.5 days I am supposed to go on a three day vacation that involves a two hour flight. Do you think I can fly or should I cancel?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
I warmly Welcome you to HCM.

Thanks for consulting me here and I assure you that all of your health concerns will be addressed in the best possible expert medical way.

My Expertcare Recommendations for You:-
While assisting you in the process here, I want to add that you may travel for the journey by air bus. There is no problem in doing that and no recommended obligations are there for such a travel in walking pneumonia.

Precautions:-
You are not at harm doesn't imply that other fellow passengers are not too. You need to observe some special precautionary measures to infect other passengers on board. Your sneezing, coughing, spitting may infect others through Respiratory Droplets that remain in the air for hours after sneezing and coughing.

Measures:-
Use nose and mouth (face) mask. Dispose it off after some hours and use a new one.
Wash your hands frequently and keep them sanitized properly.

Hope it helps. Please feel free to ask me for any doubts or further queries. I will get back to you with my expertise for assistance.

Regards!
