Is It Safe To Take Steroid Drops For Arthritis In Eye?

I was diagonose with arthritis in my eye 7 yrs ago I am currently using steroid drops every day in my one eye for the last 5 yrs. just wondering can I go blind eventually using the drops everyday. the drops is the only thing that controls my eye from getting inflamed.

I understand your concern.
You have arthritis related uveitis in eye probably and for that you are having steroid eye drops. Well, steroid drops have minor side effects like allergic reactions, redness and stinging. They are generally not a major worry.
The serious side effects of long term use of steroid eye drops are increased ocular pressure leading to glaucoma. Also, cataract can be a possibility but it is more with oral steroids. Anyways, both these complications are rare. So, there are little chance of you going blind with steroid use as glaucoma and cataract both can be managed before they get serious.
