Is It Safe To Take Mefigest With Cytology For Abortion?
good evening Dr. My wife is a mother of a kid (two yrs) not breast feeding. 8weeks past but her periods is not started, after takeing a test we confirmed that she is pregnant but we don't we want. if she take mefigest with cyrolog then is it safe for her ? this 2nd time she is taking.

Yes. These medicines can be used to cause abortion for up to 9 weeks of pregnancy. But it is very important that first she should consult family physician /Gynecologist. Before taking these tablets it is important to have examination by her to make sure that the pregnancy is in the uterus and she does not have contraindications for the medications.
Occasionally pregnancy can occur outside the uterus (ectopic pregnancy). In such a situation taking these tablets can be very dangerous for her health.
These tablets if used frequently can cause temporary irregular cycles. These should not be used as replacement to contraception.
Instead I advise you both to consult your doctor and start regular contraception like hormonal contraception or have an intrauterine devise fitted as they are more effective in preventing pregnancy than emergency contraception.
