Is It Safe To Take Hydromorphine Every 3 Hours And Hydromorphine Twice A Day

I take 3 - 4 mg of hydromorphine every 3 hours and 2 - 12 mg of long acting hydromorphine twice a day. This is for 13 years of extreme nerve pain from a bad fall in 2004 in which I smashed my elbow to bits. Every year since then I have had to have another major operation on my elbow due to bad infections. Is this an extreme amount of narcotics?

As you are taking hydromorphine in excess amount.This amount is extreme amount of narcotics.
May be you have get side effects like blurred vision, double vision, flushing (warmth, redness, or tingly feeling), nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, stomach pain,dizziness, drowsiness,dry mouth, sweating,itching, sleep problems (insomnia), or strange dreams etc due to this.
My advice to use hot water for pain. Also taper the dose gradually . Never try to stop it suddenly. I also advice to consult a pain clinic for relief.
