Is It Safe To Take Epileptic Medicine During Pregnancy?

hello Dr . , i am an epileptic patient having regular medicines but now as i m married would like to concieve ,the question is will it affect my baby too n can i continue my epilepsy medications with other pregnancy medicines ,in case i get pregnant ? Thank you.

Hello mam, thanks for trusting health care magic.
It all depends on the medicines you are taking, most of anti-epileptic drugs are not safe in pregnancy.
Its better that you meet your neurologist to manipulate the regimen which is then safe in pregnancy.
Once you stabilize on the new drugs, only then plan pregnancy.
