Is It Safe To Take Duphaston And Susten During Pregnancy And Can Susten Be Taken Orally?

hi doc, im 5 weeks 3 days pregnant. my gynaec has advised me to take duphaston twice a day and susten 200 twice a day.. is it safe to take these medicines? also i had history of irregular menses due to pcod. can susten be taken orally?? pls advise. thank you

Hi,

Duphastan and Susten can be taken safely during pregnancy.Both Duphastan and Susten are progesterone hormones used to maintain placental function and helps to support healthy pregnancy when we suspect threatened abortion. They are absolutely safe, in fact recommended for a pregnancy which is complicated with spotting or irregular bleeding. Take them as advised by your doctor. If you are not comfortable with the Susten Vaginal tablet, you may use Microgest 300 mg SR once a day orally. It has the same progesterone & serves the same purpose.
