Is It Safe To Take Zyrtec For Cold, Sneezing And Itchy Eyes?

My husband has an artificial heart valve. Right now he has had a cold for 2 weeks. Would it be safe for him to take a Zyrtec which normally helps me with the sneezing and itchy eyes. He does take lisinopril, Coumadin and Lipitor as recommended by his dr. He has taken clortabs but this time they don t seem to help
