Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your complain Tylenol contains ACETAMINOPHEN which has a mild painkilling and anti-inflammatory and fever reducing properties and codeine is an OPIATE which is used t relieve pain and a combination of both is commonly given in tooth pain..

There is a threshold quantity required of each drug by the body as per the age of the patient and the severity of the disease and in case if you take a lesser dose as compared to requirement the results will be compromised..

Therefore I would suggest you to take the dosage of the medicines as prescribed to you by your dentist for getting relief from pain..

Another thing which I would like to tell you that only painkillers are not enough in case of dental abscess as painkiller can only relieve pain while you need to take antibiotics to reduce infection and abscess..

Hope this information helps..
