Is It Safe To Take Metital For PCOD And Irregular Periods?

I do have irregular periods and recently got to know that I have PCOD. My doctor suggested me to take tablet METITAL. One tablet per day for six months. Is it safe? Does it have any side effects? Do I have a chance of having regular periods? and do I have chances of getting conceived?
