Is It Safe To Take Diane 35 For Acne?

I have ventricular septal defect from my birth size of 11 mm. Gynecologist prescribed me Diane 35 because of my skin problems. I have acne all over my face and it got worse over the years. Can I take the pills? I've read some articles on the internet and now I'm confused. I don't know what should I do.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have acne on face which are very common in your age group and occurs due to onset of puberty, hormonal changes and when clogged pores of sebaceous gland filled with sebum ,dead skin and bacteria get infected. You should get your hormones levels monitored. You can take Diane 35 only after proper prescription. You should wash your face with mild soap and cold water twice a day. You should use Isotrentoin on daily basis and wash face with clindamycin gel. Exfoliate your face once a week , apply aloe vera gel and apply azelaic acid. If condition doesn't start getting better in a month then consult dermatologist . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics course. Drink plenty of water and add fresh fruits and vegetables to your diet
