Is It Safe To Take Crocin For Throat Pain During Pregnancy?

I am lot of pain in my throat.. Very difficult to swallow saliva .. I m not able yo sleep because of that .. I did saltwater gargles twice and even took a cough syrup too but no relief yet.. I am 39 weeks pregnant can a take a Crocin to get some pain relief..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your query as you are into the last trimester of pregnancy and supposedly it is also about to complete and in case of pregnancy commonly all the drugs are prohibited for safety reasons although some medicines are considered safe..

Paracetamol is considered safe for pain during pregnancy.

Crocin contains Paracetamol+Caffine and caffine is not recommended to be taken in pregnancy so if you wish to take you can take plain paracetamol and not crocin that too only after consultation with your gynaecologist.

You should continue doing warm saline gargles atleast 3 to 4 times a day..
Chew a Vitamin C pellet to boost immunity..
Do steam inhalations..
In case if still there is no improvement consult an ENT expert and get evaluated and he can do a throat swab culture and rule out for bacterial or viral infection..
In case of bacterial infection antibiotics like Amoxicillin will be advised as it is safe during pregnancy..
