Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i am a 25 year old female. i was diagnosed with depression and my dr put me on CELEXA 40MG. But here lately i have been having really bad nervousness, feeling jittery, and real sharp chest pain that comes and goes can you help me with the questions i should ask my DR
There are a few possibilities. Firstly a side effect concerning the heart has to be ruled out. Secondly, If the drug was recently started and these symptoms have commenced after starting the drug, then it could be the side effects of this drug. But you need not worry as these symptoms go away in a week or two. After that you would start experiencing relief in your symptoms of both depression and anxiety. If it does not go away after two weeks, you need to consult your doctor. Thirdly, anxiety can be a part of a depressive illness, which if not responding to celexa, you may have to be started on another drug for both depression and anxiety.
Hope this helps, Dr A Rao
