I have to get a molar extracted and an implant placed in its place on Saturday (two days from now). I have a medical card for marijuana and am wondering whether it's safe to smoke marijuana (and / or eat edibles) within 48 hours prior to the general anesthesia. Thanks in advance

Yes, smoking marijuana can effect Anesthesia. Smoking, both tobacco and marijuana, can produce changes in blood pressure and lung function that can impact the amount and kind of Anesthesia you may need, and can produce unwanted effects during surgery. Elimination half life of cannabis is 2-20 hours rest depend upon metabolite. So it need more than two days to eliminate from body. Better to avoid it before surgery.
