Infectious Diseases Specialist, Dr. Arun's Response
Hello dear,
Thank you for your contact to health care magic.
I read and understand your concern.
I am Dr Arun Tank answering your concern.
If your infection is treated you should stop the drug before you plan for the pregnancy.
There is no study showing that this drug is teratogenic and causes fetal malformation. But for pregnant lady my general advice is to keep all the drugs away.
You should take the drug only if the drug is necessary eg. If the drug is life saving one.
I think this much long duration is sufficient for the yeast infection to treat. So you can stop the infection.
Please maintain good local hygiene as it is equally important in treatment as the drug is doing.
I will be happy to answer your further concern on bit.ly/DrArun.
Thank you, Dr Arun Tank Infectious diseases specialist, HCM.
