Is It Safe To Fly During A Pregnancy?

hello dr. i am randa. my qustion is ( i found me pregant this month in 4 weeks & i must travel to my country impotant in next mont on 8 apr i am now in new york & my country egypt i will be in the plane 13 hours so i am afraid about my baby tell me what can i do ? this safe or not & this is my second pregnanc..thanx alot

Hi Randa,
Please get an ultrasound done,if it is normal and corresponding to your dates and you do not have any other symptoms ;You can safely travel.
Please make sure you carry your medical reports and also ,prefer the aisle seat.
Take adequate fluids and avoid dehydration.
take a short walk in the flight every 2-3 hours to stretch your legs.Wear loose comfortable clothing.
