Hi Stephen, Welcome to HealthcareMagic Forum.
The normal range of GGT is 0 to 51 international units per liter (IU/L). It could be raised in condition like liver and bile duct diseases. Since your GGT was 900 earlier, what is the recent blood Report of GGT? If you say it has come down to normal, it could have been elevated due to congestion of the bile ducts, which is called cholestasis. Kindly stop your Alcohol intake as you may end up having Liver Cirrhosis and Hepatitis. There will be chances that you may increase your dailyalcohol intake day by day. u r lucky that ur liver is not damage to the level from where it can not be reverse back means irreversible damage.
u know why it damage.
once u know the reason that its due to spirit and beer then if u want to be healthy for long time u must give it up.
if u wish u can rarely take very small amount .
consult with ur doctor more with this regard.
thanks so much for taking time to answer my question.my ggt is now 49.I was still drinking 1 tin of beer per week watered down with lemonade between my first test and second test.my fist test ggt was 900.the second ggt test was 49 would it be safe to take 1 tin of beer with lemonade once per week? and now my ggt level is normal does it mean my liver has healed.kind regards stephen..

Abdomen ultrasound was normal except stone in CBD and gallbladder , so my Gall bladder has been removed 1 month back after ERCP for stone removal from CBD. The stent kept in CBD has been removed after 2 weeks. I was perfectly al right except following small issue. Whenever I don t drink much water my urine colour is darker.I don t have any other problem. LFT has been checked recently and came back to normal. Random Panel & blood test (automated) done before the surgery. It was normal. I have observed the most of the people are talking about this in internet, will my problem go away with time?
Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here... Hi, I am a 41 year old normally healthy female who recently had a baby 6 weeks ago. My ALT levels are normally fine but I was concerned so my MD ordered a liver enzyme test. The number was 64 U/l which according to palo alto medical foundation us WNL. Other labs report this value as high. During my pregnancy I was put on low levels (50-100 mg ) of labetalol, and after my c section was put on percocet and then vicodin. I also continued the Labetalol. This was my second C section. Post Op I had some cellulitis and problems with my incision thus the reason they contiued me on vicodin. I no longer need the pain meds and do not take anything now for pain. I also am nursing. I do not drink anything alcoholic, do not smoke and am gradually losing the pregnancy weight (I gained 30 pounds). My QUESTION: Is the value of the ALT test alarming and should I question PAMF s upper limit of normal value? Again, my number for the ALT is 64 and 29 or 30 I believe for the AST. Thanks

I am experiencing worse sinus allergy symptoms than usual for past 2 days. Unable to sleep last night due to feelings of intense anxiety (unusual for me). Shortness of breath all day today with very sharp pain under left shoulder blade, not relieved by change of position or by relaxation exercises. It hurts very much to take a breath so I keep having to yawn as chest is tight (hurts a lot to yawn!). My job is physically active but walking is tiring today.
