Hello
I have gone through your question and understand your concern. In my view taking a laxative is just a temporary way to treat constipation, it is better to make dietary modifications as laxatives are not safe in long run.
Try adding a daily fiber supplement like Lactifibre to your daily routine before going to bed with ample of water to add bulk to stool. Try to incorporate fiber rich food in diet like sweet potato, asparagus, mango, chia seeds to make the stool passage smooth along with a minimum of 6 glasses of water a day.
A basic understanding of constipation and measures to prevent it will surely help. The more fiber in diet and consumption of water adds bulk to the stool as fiber tends to swell absorbing water. Keep the laxative for use when you feel constipated for more than a day otherwise use only fiber supplement and dietary modifications to deal with the issue.
Hope your concern is answered. Thank you.
