Hello dear,
Thank you for your question and welcome to Healthcare Magic. I read your query and I understand your concern.
I want to congratulate on your choice on having a second child, of course you could plan another child, but I want to give you some advices in order to prevent complications during
pregnancy. The most important thing is to control your blood sugar level and start making healthy lifestyle before pregnancy, in order to help you and your baby the healthiest start. High blood
glucose levels can be harmful to your baby during the first weeks of pregnancy—even before you know you are pregnant. The first step in preparing for pregnancy is to talk to your local health care provider which will monitor your blood sugar level. Blood glucose targets are different for women who are trying to get pregnant. You have to equilibrate your
hemoglobin A1C level, which is a reflection of your blood sugar level for the past two to three months, before pregnancy.
Your healthcare provider will evaluate your
diabetes treatment plan and consider any changes that might be needed to improve it. For example, some women preparing for pregnancy might consider using an
insulin pump or increasing the number of insulin injections to improve blood sugar control.
Hope I helped with my answer. For further concerns or follow up questions, don't hesitate to write again. I will be happy to respond you.
Kind Regards,
Dr. Ina
