Is It Safe For Tonsil Removal In Pregnant Woman?

I am a 23 y/o female who is 33w3d pregnant with my 2nd child. I have had tonsilitis 4 times in the past 12mo. However the antibiotic prescribed by my Dr is not safe during pregnancy so I have to let it ride its course. Is it safe to ask a ENT to simply remove my tonsils? I also am a stay at home mom and caring for a two year old is difficult since I am trying to avoid spreading illness.

Hello,
If i were your doctor, i would suggest you not to go for tonsillectomy, because eventhough the operation is minor but you will have to take antibiotics and other medicines post-operatively, so you should avoid undergoing any kind of surgery during pregnancy, but you can always consult an ENT surgeon, if your tonsils remain to bother you in future.
Hope this will help and feel free to ask any queries of you directly to me.
