Is It Possible To Sleep Without The Seroquel Tablets?
am a 50 year old male who is 2 years sober from a 30 year drug addiction. 2 years have been rough, but I am experiencing very deep depressing and suicidal thoughts. I have been on seroquel for about 10 years now and I am on 400 mg a night to help me sleep. I have obsessive thoughts and can not get out of this depression. I can't seem to wean myself off of this drug and I am beginning to believe that it is causing my obsessive thoughts and depression. My dr said I may have to take it for the rest of my life. Could this drug be causing my problems and, if so, do you have any advice on how to wean off of it or any other drugs that are non-narcotic/non-addictive. I can't sleep without it! I feel my only solution is either to start using again or suicide. I can't seem to find anyone who can help! Please help me!
In depression, you can try antidepressant drugs like mirtazapine or trazodone. That would help you to get sound sleep and elevate your mood. Seroquel is a antipsychotic. It would not help in depressive or obsessive symptoms. In that case, antidepressant would help you. Better to consult a psychiatrist for proper diagnosis and management. In case, you need further help, you can ask.
Thanks
