Is it possible to get diabetes from a massive intake of sugar?
Say if someone ate 10 coffee cakes, or something that has a ton of sugar, is it possible to get diabetes from this or just become fat?

diabetes will not come if u eat too much of sugar,u will become diabetic if u have family history.that is this disease is genetical..and on that risk factors like being fat /overweight will contribute to become diabteic.

General & Family Physician Dr. JItendra Sharma's  Response
If something practical, yes overweight can be a risk factor for diabetes. Acute binge can cause rise in blood sugar, but will control the blood sugar following release for insulin from pancreas.
