Is It Possible To Find The Source HPV Transmission?

I have just been tested positive for high risk HPV (aged 66) - tested negative 6 months ago - cytology normal at this stage. My only partner since widowhood (i.e monogamous for 45 years) is a male whose wife died of cervical cancer 4 years ago. Is there anything known about him probably transmitting the same HPV that infected his wife to me and my relative risk of transformation. I am a geneticist so have both a personal and professional interest and am willing to read relevant literature. Many thanks.

Hello,
Welcome to HCM,
I had gone through your history and understand your concern.
Genital human papilloma virus (also called HPV) is the most common sexually transmitted infection (STI).
There is no certain way to tell who will develop health problems from HPV and who will not.
A person can still have HPV, even if years have passed since he has had sexual contact with an infected person. In your case also the man with whom you had sex, wiife of him has died of disease caused by HPV.
HPV infections (90%) go away by themselves within two years. But, sometimes, HPV infections will persist and can cause a variety of serious health problems liike Genital warts Cervical cancer and genital cancer.
Hope you are satisfied with my answer. If you any query please post us.
Thank you.
