Is It Possible To Conceive Post Fallopian Tube Removal While Having Retroverted Ovary?

Hi, I had laparotomy a year ago due to ectopic pregnancy and my right fallopian tube was removed. A few months prior to that, I had a miscarriage. On top of that, I have a retroverted ovary. Do I still have a chance of getting pregnant? Thanks in advance for your response.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Fallopian tube is a very essential part of the female reproductive tract as the ovum released by ovary would travel through it and generally gets fertilized in midway of the tube. Then the fertilized ovum would be implanted in the uterus. Ovulation usually occurs alternately on right and left side respectively.
Since your right side Fallopian tube has been removed, the chances of conceiving is there but little less. Also, with history of miscarriage makes the chances even less.
You can try naturally for about 6 months for it to happen if your age is less.
Otherwise, it would be advisable to consult an infertility specialist in this regard and plan for invitro-fertilization (IVF), which would be more suitable as in your case.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
