Is It Possible To Be HIV Positive Through A Cut On The Scrotum When In Contact With Vaginal Fluid?

I was wondering if a HIV positive woman can pass HIV to a male through a cut on the scrotum if it comes in contact with vaginal fluid. This happened maybe twice and the sex was always protected. She said she took two HIV tests which were negative, however I have reason to believe she was lying about that. And she was 18 at the time if that makes any difference. I d really appreciate a response because I ve been worried for quite some time.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If there is a cut in the scrotal skin and a condom is not used or it is defective , then it is possible for transmission of infection to occur.
If a condom was used correctly , the risk of transmission of any infection is very low.

There are accurate HIV tests that can determine , if you are HIV positive. The antibody tests such as the ELISA tests have a window period of 3 to 6 months but the pcr DNA tests have a window period of 2 to 3 weeks.

The window period is the time it takes for a test to be able to accurately determine whether an infection is present.

I hope this helps
