Hello, you can t stop anticoagulation because you risk having a stroke or other embolic events. Although such events are not very common the risk is much higher when you don t take the drug. Using corticosteroids increases your risk for gastrointestinal side effects. Using either ranitidine or omeprazole will reduce the risk for gastrointestinal complications, if you don t use them already. Remember to ask your doctor before you use any drugs. Some patients may have contraindications for certain medications. So in conclusion, stopping the anticoagulant is not recommended. Other measures have to be taken to improve the safety of treatment.
