Is It Normal To See Rainbow Halos And Foggy Vision While Using Colored Contact Lenses?

Hi there!

My name's Aryka and I just bought myself a pair of coloured contacts. They're not prescription, but simple cosmetic contacts to change the colour of my eyes. They're comfortable and haven't given me any problems this far; at least I don't think so? Sometimes I will start to see rainbow halos around lights and my vision gets slightly foggy. Is this normal for someone who's not used to wearing contacts? I've read that for most people, it means that their eye pressure is building but since this only seems to happen occasionally and ONLY when I wear contacts, my guess is that isn't the case. Regardless, I wanted to check and make sure that nothing serious is going on. I appreciate you taking the time to reply to my question and look forward to hearing back from you.

Happy New Year!

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hello
It seems from the history that you are having symptoms of seeing rainbow colored halos and foggy vision after wearing contact lenses.
These symptoms are because of corneal edema caused by contact lenses.
Corneal edema can be because of tight fit or some other problem related to contact lenses.
Hence this requires evaluation by ophthalmologist to findout the underlying cause and treatment accordingly.

Thank you
