Hi,

Depo Provera may cause irregular or at times prolonged bleeding. Once the body gets adjusted to the hormonal change, it normalizes. Hormonal changes associated with menstruation cycle do cause mood swings.

Mood swings also occur due to anxiety, stress, depression, pre-menstrual syndrome. You can take the help of your treating doctor, Psychiatrist or Counselor. You may need Tegretol, anxiolytics or antidepressants, etc. Take medicines under your local treating doctor after physical examination.

If you are very uncomfortable & cannot cope with your symptoms, report to your treating doctor so that the medicines can be substituted by another that suits you better.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
