Is It Normal To Have Yellowish Discharge From Ears When Suffering From Otitis Media?

I have been fighting an ear infection in my left ear since early December of last year. Antibiotics, both oral and ear drops were prescribed. I have been to my ENT several times, with each time having to have my ear suctioned, showing clear to yellowish fluid. Diagnosed with otitis media and externa. My ear continues to plug up, then drain, then plug up again. What can I do? Antihistamines aren't helping, heat does help the pain, somewhat. Can't wear my hearing aid which means I don't hear anything! This is getting ridiculous! Help please?

HI. Yellow discharge indicate an infection , which is not getting resolved. BY this time you should have undergone tests for diabetes and other medical problems, CT can for ears to know how bad is the infection from the mastoid bone and may need a surgery to clear the infection if medicines are not helping.
