Is It Normal To Have Severe Stomach Pain After Taking Cytolog To Terminate Pregnancy?
Hello My wife is 4 weeks pregnant and she took two tablets of mifepristone on 21/04/2014 at around 11pm.... then after 24hrs i.e on 23/04/2014 morning at around 11am she took 1tablet of 200mg Cytolog (misoprostol) orally and another 1 tablet she took vaginally. After that she started experiencing pain after an hour. She also told me that she was passing very small amount of blood and along with that she was experiencing severe pain in her stomach. So at around 2pm ..... she took 1tablet of Ibuprofen 400mg to minimise the pain. After that pain reduced a lot and from then onwards the cramping was happening occasionally... but there was no sign of bleeding. So we are worried and want to know whether the abortion process has stopped ( after she was administered with the painkiller ? ). What should be done now ??? Please reply... as soon as possible...

In my opinion pain killer might have inhibited the action of misoprostol.
I suggest you to take another one or two doses of misoprostol on consecutive days and check for the bleeding.
You need to go for an ultrasound to ensure the completion of abortion after 15 days from the day when the mifepristone was taken.
Don't worry.
The extra doses of misoprostol might help in a few cases.
If the ultrasound shows any retained products of conception then they need to be evacuated surgically.
But relax.Avoid stress.
I request you to take medicines for termination only under doctor supervision to avoid complications like incomplete abortion,heavy bleeding etc.
