Is it normal to have semen liquefaction time of 40 minutes ?

semen liquification time is 40 mins is it normal or is there any problem to plan 4 a baby.

The normal semen liquefaction time is 20 to 30 minutes. High liquefaction time indicates the presence of some infection. You can contact your doctor who will prescribe the required antibiotics.

As for your question about future fertility issues, it depends on the other parameters in the semen analysis. If everything else is normal, you should have no difficulty in having a baby once the infection has settled.

Normal values: Volume 2-6ml

Count 40 million

Morphology 70% normal

Motility 60% normal

pH 7.2-8.0


Bacteria Nil
