I have retro -grade ejaculation after laser prostate surgery , Been 4 yrs. I have tried high doses of sudaphed I but it react with my other medicines. A man that had same procedure, same problem. His urologist inserted a stint, fixed problem no issues since. I found an article where they are doing cologen injections next to the neck of the bladder, to reverse the flow of semen, especially in fertility questions. Two urologist have told me it s no big deal ,learn to live with it. The last one said he read the article and he wouldn t do anything to treat it, and not to come back. I have to find someone my provider covers. Is there any advance in this problem, and is it still possible to get a stint, and a urologist without an attitude? I am getting to the point where it effects my social life, and suffering from depression on top of that. My age at the time of surgery was 52. I went to the Dr. due to frequent urges to urinate. I was in no pain, they did an ultrasound, inserted a catheter and drained 2 Plastic urinals full, I think it was 1700 cc. I worked in Restaurant industry, 24 yrs. where it was necessary to hold off going to the bathroom during busy periods. They did Biopsy which was negative, prostate was not swollen. I would have rather had to use a self catheter at home than have this problem. Any Dr. that says there is no difference, doesn't experience this problem. I don't need to reproduce, but there are many like me that are looking for an answer. One man said after 2 yrs. he started to ejaculate again. 1st DR. said it was an injury to a muscle at the neck of the bladder, 2nd said the surgery makes the space beyond the surgery larger so it is the path of least resistance. both were very dismissive of the problem.
