Is It Normal To Have Red Spots In The Throat Post Tonsillectomy Which Hurts While Drinking Water And Eating Salty Food?

I'm on day 7 of my post op tonsillectomy . Its Friday, Jan 3rd , and I had it Friday dec 27th. I've been throwing up quite a bit. I threw up on the 1st of january and I think it might have opened my scabs a little. Today when I look at the back of my throat with a flashlight I notice red spots on the edges of where my tonsils were. They're red and kind of puffy , they look like strawberries/raspberries. Also, it hurts when I drink water or when I eat something salty . I'm just scared that I might have an infection. Are the red spots normal?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
hello. generally it is normal for the pain to increase on day 5/day6 post tonsillectomy and the red spots may be normal as the slough falls off. however if you develop bleeding or fever then you must go to your ENT doctor immediately. thanks
