Is It Normal To Have Pain And Tenderness In Outer Breast Area?

I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer (left breast -lumpectomy, chemo for 4 mths. (YUCK), radiation for 30 days). in 1997. I am now experiencing an unusual pain in my outer left breast that is tender to the touch and very painful. There is not a lot of breast left after the surgery and radiation, and it is not near the scar where the procedure was performed. I have never had a pain like this before. I can feel several lumps in that general area, but that is normal for me. Any thought.
