Is It Normal To Have Pain After Thermal Ablation And Sterilization?

I had a thermal ablation and sterilisation 4 weeks ago on the same day. I am still having a lot of pain around the belly button area and lower abdomen. Iv had post op infection at wound sites, is it normal to still be in such pain after this amount of time?

Hi,

Thanks for the query.

I am sorry for the infection. The pain that you are experiencing may be due to the following reasons:
1. Infection : you already had a wound infection, it may be possible that it has not healed completely and is causing pain.
2. pain due to suture material. It takes some time for the sutures to get absorbed and they may cause pain. Some women have pain up to 3 months due t suture material.
3. pain due to adhesions: they may form after any surgery. In this the organs stick to each other due to presence of infection or sutures.

These are not uncommon problems. It is best to get yourself evaluated for the cause by seeing your doctor and take pain killers and antibiotics if needed. You will be all right after that.

Hope this satisfies your query.
