Is It Normal To Have Itching And Tingling In Nipple Area After Inserting Pacemaker?
I just had a pacemaker installed two days ago and I'm having severe itching and tingling in the area below the pacemaker. I am a male but my left chest area around the nipple is itching and tingling. Is this normal and what do I do to stop the itching?

Dear patient,
The main thing to ensure is that the pacemaker pocket looks clean, there is no infection and no hematoma; this can be achieved by the device nurses or support staff that works where your pacemaker was implanted; if it all looks good, probably a topical cream such as a low dose steroid or an antihistaminic could be used for symptom relief.
