My father gets hiccups that start about 20 hours after injection and last for at least two days at a time for 20 minutes periods at a time separated by 5-30minutes after getting corizone injections in his knees. I have read online posts that many doctors have never heard of this which is strange because there are many other posts with similar side effects reported. There are also websights that report some individuals receive prescriptions that are given by their physicians to treat the hiccups, but the names of the prescriptions are not given. There are other websites that list prescriptions for hiccups that are atributed to things other than cortizone shots. He has tried holding his breath, tums, pickle juice, peanut butter, alcohol, he cannot bring his knees to his chest... Please advise.
