Is It Normal To Have Heavy Mucus Discharge After Having Unprotected Sex?

About a week ago I had unprotected sex with my significant other. Since then I have been having clear mucusy discharge (as if I'm constantly wet down there) to the point I have to change my clothes. I was supposed to be starting my period in a couple days. Last night I experienced very light bleeding mixed in with the clear discharge and it has continued over today. It only comes out when I urinate and doesn't show up if I'm wearing a pad. Is this normal or what could this be?

Hello,

It is normal to have a mucus discharge after having sex. The mild bleeding can be due to impending period. You can wait and see if it increases.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Rakhi Tayal, OBGYN
