Is It Normal To Have Hard, Greenish Catarrh Which Is Ejected With Disgusting Smell?

Last april my mother died. Soon after I developed an annoying cough, better to specify that I was not coughing all the time, just every now and then, but the cough was very dry and like a dog howl. I didn't pay much attention because i suffer from allergy and
a. the occasional episodes of cough looked exactly like the ones I usually have during the pollen season
b. went away when I was by the seaside to come back in september (one of the plants I'm allergic to is active in autumn).
The following week though I still had the same cough and it was then diagnosed as GERD cough. All this months I had been seen by many doctors and all of them said the lungs were ok, I even did some blowing tests which came out just right.
To make things even more confusing I've just got "a little pneumonia", for which I'm being treating with antibiotics.
I'm tired, I'm sad, I've always been very health and active and find myself having spent the last months worrying about my health. I feel like I'm not myself anymore.
And now there's something else which upsets me and I come to my question: even now that I have pneumonia when I cough my catarrh is very very little, quite fluid and clair, but every now and then there are little "bullits" of hard, greenish catarrh which are ejected out, with a disgusting smell. This is really upsetting me even more.
Is it normal? I heard it can happen when you have problem with your tonsils and that it doesn't come from way down your respiratory ways.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Dear, GERD cough is very common nowadays due to the life style we are living and surprisingly most of the time its silent means we do not feel any thing coming to the throat like acid bitter taste, however its silent and keeps on trickling into larynx and can even cause mild pneumonia because of acid and liquid aspiration as well. A treatment with antiemetic as well as antaacids like PPI will certainly help but a examination by the specialist to know the reason for GERD is advisable to cure the condition and not only symptoms
