Is It Normal To Have Back Pain, Blood Clots In Leg Post Robotic Surgery On Ovary?

Hello. I just underwent robotic surgery to remove a 11 cm cyst on my ovary and to drain other cysts on my other ovary. The doctor had to remove the tube and ovary along w/ the large cyst. I was still loopy when he spoke w/ me before my release. (just a couple hrs after surgery) He said something about cleaning out several bad adhesions from my past C-sections, which probably had a lot to do w/ my back pain. He made five incisions, they are glued. Surgery was on Sat, and today is Weds. Is it normal for me to have so much pain, and difficulty moving. I try to walk 3 times a day to keep from getting blood clots in legs, but I feel a great deal of pulling. Am I overdoing it? Is this normal? When might I be able to lie on my side to sleep?

Hello ma'am and welcome.

It is good you are going about exercises to prevent blood clots, but the truth is that your surgery was most recent and your wounds still fresh. You may continue to have these pains for a while longer as the surgery you underwent is quite a serious one, but you shall certainly recover soon, do not worry. The exact time cannot be predicted but it may take 2-4 months for complete recovery.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
