Is It Normal To Have Anesthesia To Remove Copper T?

i have copper t for 3 yrs. i have heavy bleeding during periods.
when i consulted DR. they checked and said that i thread is not found .
so i need to be given anesthesia and that needs to be taken out.
Is it fine? Scared.. Kindly advise me on the same

Yes it is fine as disappearance of thread means Copper T is displaced and needs removal as it is causing heavy bleedings.
