Is It Normal To Have SGOT-66 And SGPT-81 In Test Results?

Hello Doctor,I am 33 yrs old non-smoker/drinker.Recently I purchased one Term Insurance Plan & I have gone through with Medical Test by the Insurance company.In the report my SGOT & SGPT levels have come as SGOT- 66 & SGPT- 81.Now due to this Insurance comapny are increasing the premium by 50% for the same amount cover, I read your other posts related to SGOT & SGPT and found such level is not really a matter of worry. So I want to know, Are my SGOT & SGPT level justified the 50% increase by the company ? or shall I go with another test ? Please advise me to control it & after how much time I should go with LFT to check the level.Regards,Deepak

I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern. Your sgpt and sgot levels are high. But just slight increase is there. It is seen in liver damage. It may be due to alcohol, drugs, toxin or hepatitis. No need to worry. It may be temporary increase. You should go for complete liver function test after a month. 50% rise in premium is not justified with your reports.
