Is It Normal To Get Pins And Needles After Spraining Ankle 5 Days Ago?

I badly sprained my ankle 5 days ago. It swelled and has bruised but now I am getting pins and needles in the top of my foot and toes. The swelling has reduced a little, I had an x-ray they said it was not broken. Just worried why I am getting pins and needles now.

Hello and welcome to health care magic.
The nerves supplying the tip of toes and foot pass through the ankle. So when a swelling is present there is a chance of these nerves getting compressed. This will results in pin and needle sensations.
My advice is to visit your GP and he will prescribe you multi Vitamins for 2 weeks which will help in regeneration of these nerves.
Inserting your foot on warm water will also help in reducing the pin and needle sensations.
Hope this discussion will be helpful to you.
Thank you.
