Hi, was just wondering if its normal to feel sick after donating blood? I just donated blood last Tuesday and since yesterday i feel a little bit sick and yucky. my fever goes on and off aswell and it seems to distract me from work. Is it normal? or do i need to go for a check up? Thanks for the time reading this. Warm regards. - Kait
Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum. The weakness you are feeling may not be due to the blood donation, it appears to be due to some infection. The other reason may be due to the anxiety of giving blood, but it is not common. I advise you to consult a physician for diagnosis and treatment. you may need to have some blood and urine tests for diagnosis. I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms cifixime, paracetamol, and ranitidine. Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
