Is it normal to bleed after loop diathermy?

hi, i had an loop diathermy procedure a week tomorrow, but today the bleeding has doubled today and the cramp like discomfort has also increased. i have been working a lot on the allotment with digging etc, also there is a slight odour from the discharge but nothing too offensive. is this normal am i doing too much or should i seek further medical advise. thank you Zoe

According to your description, I am thinking that you have undergone loop diathermy for some cervical lesion.

Usually, after diathermy, the bleeding will get controlled due to the sealing of small blood vessels there.

As you are straining more, there is the possibility of opening up of those small bleeders due to dislodgement of blood clots.

Another possibility is an infection. If the symptoms persist, better to consult your gynecologist once, get examined and take treatment accordingly.

Usually, antifibrinolytic drugs and antibiotics can help in this situation.
