As your question clearly says, your tooth is impacted, which means the your wisdom tooth has not erupted to its normal position. In such cases below problems will occur
-Angle of the tooth impaction leading to natural space between your adjacent tooth, which leads to caries -Gums around the tooth are inflamed due to poor brushing in that region due to accessibility.
In all such cases swelling around the teeth and pain is common, however it is advised for impacted tooth removal surgically in order to potentially avoid damages of adjacent tooth and late mandibular crowding in the anterior teeth due to pressure.
