Is It Normal For An Infant To Pass Green Stools With Foul Smell?

Hi doctor. My daughter is under two months And has been passing green stools for many days having foul smell. But is other wise healthy. She is both breastfed and formula fed..I am using MORINAGA INFANT FORMULA NL -33..AT TIMES SHE IS GASSY ALSO BUT ON THE WHOLE..SHE IS HALE AND HEARTY..IS THIS NORMAL?DO REPLY .THANKU

thank you for asking your concern and welcome to hcm. greenish stool is completely normal in a two month baby. foul smell is also normal in most of the breast fed infants but as you are giving formula feed also that may cause foul smell. baby stomach is not adaptive for formula feed so some amount of indigestion will present and that gives foul smell and gas like feeling. i believe you are giving formula feed after consulting your doctor because formula feed is not recommended till 6 month of age until breast is not producing milk.
for gas like feeling burping method is the best method for infants. taking baby upright on the shoulder and tapping back for 10-15 min is sufficient. if burp is not passed then make baby sleep on mothers lap over abdomen and tap baby's back for 10-15 min. no need to give any medications.
