Is It Normal For An Infant To Make An Oral Contact With Non-edible Items?

Hello. My 5 month old has an over sensitive routing reflex. If you barely even touch his lips he acts like a little alligator and tries to get whatever it is that touched his.mouth, into his mouth. He also arches his back a lot during feedings. Just wondering if I should be concerned about.these things or if this is.just a.development thing that he will outgrow?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi
Thanks for your query.
Relax, this is just a developmental process and will settle in few days.
At 5 to 6 months of age baby puts every thing in mouth which is usually due to irritation of gums .
Hope this helps.
Take care..
