Is It Necessary To Take Anti-rabies Vaccine?
My dog teeth scratch my skin its not deep but it bleeds.. do i need to get anti-rabies shots? urgent pls help its a matter of life and death here... its been 3 days since the incident.. tnx

dog bit and lick on the abraded skin any were requires antirabies shot. not getting vaccinated will be hazardious for the poaaible rabies disease which has the 100% death rate.
Hi, Not all dog bites require anti-rabies vaccine. If your dog has been adequately vaccinated for rabies, and the scratch has been inadvertent while playing, and the dog appears otherwise to be in good mood and well, I do not think you need to panic. taking a shot of Tetanus Toxoid would certainly help.
Rabies vaccine is indicated if it is a stray dog bite or one which has been unprovoked from a dog who seems to be unwell, and has not been given the rabies vaccines.
If the dog remains alive and well for 2 weeks, as most healthy cheerful pets would, you need not worry. GC
